There is this underlying belief or feeling, if you will, about Sundays. Everyone has it, but it differs for us all.
For some, Sunday is a day of rest. "I'm not doin' anything on Sunday. God didn't, and I'm not either. Says so in the Bible!" And this often includes attending church.
For some, Sunday is a day of personal redemption. Do what you want all week long without a thought and redeem yourself on Sunday by attending the obligatory church service.
For others, Sunday is the culmination of a week of days spent doing much of what God intended - whatever that may be for each individual. A day to take stock, be further led, hear more of what God would have you be doing.
And still for others, it may be a combination of all of the above. At WRCC, we come to rest - in a place that does not judge us or ridicule us, or break us into groups of "them" and "us;" we come to once again redeem ourselves in our own minds and hearts after being the sinners we are every day; and, if anything went at all like we hoped last week, we come to be further led and hear God's voice and feel his presence within these walls and take that feeling with us to face another week.
What does Sunday mean for you? Has its meaning changed over time? What feelings are you passing on to your kids, whether intentional or not?
